Constitution Summary
UNCC is a refugee-led humanitarian and community development organisation committed to protecting dignity, restoring hope, and strengthening vulnerable communities through humanitarian assistance, protection, education, healthcare, peacebuilding, advocacy, and sustainable development initiatives across Australia and East Africa.
Safeguarding Policy
UNCC maintains zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation, harassment, neglect, discrimination, and violence. The organisation is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and respectful environments for children, vulnerable adults, seniors, refugees, staff, volunteers, and community members.
Child Protection Policy
UNCC is committed to protecting children from all forms of abuse, exploitation, neglect, and violence. All staff, volunteers, and partners must uphold child-safe practices and comply with safeguarding obligations.
Complaints Policy
UNCC is committed to handling complaints fairly, respectfully, confidentially, and transparently. Complaints relating to staff conduct, safeguarding, discrimination, fraud, or service quality shall be investigated promptly.
Financial Management Policy
UNCC is committed to transparent and accountable financial management. All donor funds, grants, and community contributions shall be managed ethically, documented properly, and used only for approved humanitarian purposes.
Conflict of Interest Policy
All UNCC representatives must act honestly, ethically, and in the best interests of the organisation. Personal or financial interests that may affect organisational responsibilities must be disclosed.
Fraud & Anti-Corruption Policy
UNCC maintains zero tolerance for fraud, bribery, corruption, theft, misuse of donor funds, or financial misconduct. Suspected misconduct shall be reported and investigated appropriately.
Whistleblower Policy
UNCC encourages individuals to report serious misconduct, corruption, abuse, safeguarding concerns, and unethical behaviour without fear of retaliation or intimidation.
PSEAH Policy
UNCC has zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment. The organisation prioritises survivor-centred responses, confidentiality, dignity, and protection for vulnerable persons.
Risk Management Framework
UNCC recognises the importance of identifying and managing operational, financial, safeguarding, security, reputational, and compliance risks across all humanitarian activities.
Privacy Policy
UNCC respects the privacy and confidentiality of personal information collected during humanitarian, volunteer, donor, and community activities. Information shall be stored securely and used responsibly.
Code of Conduct
All UNCC representatives shall promote dignity, inclusion, accountability, transparency, peace, and non-discrimination while respecting safeguarding obligations and humanitarian principles.
Applicable Standards & Laws
These policies align with ACNC Governance Standards, ACFID Code of Conduct, DFAT Safeguarding Standards, Australian Privacy Act 1988, UN safeguarding principles, and relevant laws in Uganda, Kenya, and South Sudan.
