UNCC Strategy 2030: Championing Dignity and Rights for Seniors in a Changing World
Strategic Pillars
The UNCC Strategy 2026–2030 is centered on four interconnected pillars that guide our programs and partnerships to protect dignity, strengthen communities, and support vulnerable populations.
Ending Violence Against Children
UNCC reaffirms its commitment to preventing and responding to violence against children. Through safeguarding initiatives, community awareness, education support, and advocacy, we work to protect children from abuse, exploitation, neglect, and harmful practices. We promote accountability, strengthen child protection systems, and ensure that children’s voices are heard in decisions affecting their lives.
Child-Sensitive Humanitarian Action
UNCC strengthens humanitarian responses that prioritize the protection, safety, and wellbeing of children during crises. Our programs ensure that children’s rights are central in emergency response, recovery, and community support initiatives, particularly for families affected by poverty, displacement, or social instability.
Child Rights in a Changing Climate
Climate change increasingly affects the wellbeing of children and vulnerable communities. UNCC recognizes climate change as a critical child rights issue and supports community resilience through environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and programs that protect children from climate-related risks and disasters.
Dignity and Support for Seniors
UNCC recognizes that elderly individuals are often among the most vulnerable members of society, facing isolation, poverty, and limited access to care. Through our Senior Welfare and Support Programs, we promote dignity, wellbeing, and inclusion by providing community outreach, welfare visits, medical referrals, food assistance, and social support for seniors experiencing hardship.
Enabling Commitments
These pillars are strengthened by shared commitments that guide how UNCC works with communities and partners:
-
Participation of Children and Young People – empowering children and youth to express their views and participate in shaping solutions that affect their lives.
-
Locally Led Action – supporting community-driven initiatives and partnerships that promote sustainable change.
-
Learning and Evidence-Based Programs – strengthening programs through research, monitoring, and shared learning.
-
Advocacy and Resource Mobilization – working with partners and supporters to raise awareness, strengthen policies, and mobilize resources for vulnerable communities.
These commitments are not simply guiding principles—they are the mechanisms through which UNCC delivers meaningful and lasting impact.
These pillars are enabled by common commitments: participation of children and young people, locally led action, learning and evidence, and joint advocacy and resource mobilization. These are not just principles; they are the mechanisms through which we will achieve impact.
