UNCC RESPONSE TO VULNERABLE REFUGEES & HOST COMMUNITIES – 2026

UNCC’s Core Programs: Protecting Lives, Restoring Dignity, and Building Resilient Communities
UNCC is responding to the rising protection risks affecting vulnerable refugees and host community girls in Terego District, Rhino Camp, Eden Settlement, and Arua Town. Early pregnancy, exploitation, and school dropout have increased as parents leave camps in search of survival and essential services decline. Since 24 February 2026, UNCC volunteers have been meeting parents, engaging seniors, and speaking one‑on‑one with youth—an approach proving highly effective in restoring protection, awareness, and community resilience.

    UNCC implements targeted awareness sessions and community dialogues to prevent early pregnancy, exploitation, and school dropout among adolescent girls. Volunteers engage families, teachers, and settlement leaders to promote safety, dignity, and continued education.

    Boys learn discipline, emotional control, respect, and non‑violence through guided yoga practices. The program strengthens positive masculinity and reduces risky behaviour while enhancing mental wellbeing.
