UNCC Education Program

Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating lasting stability for families and communities. At UNCC, we believe every child—regardless of displacement, nationality, or background—deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and flourish.

That’s why our education programs focus on removing the barriers that keep children, child‑mothers, and vulnerable youth out of school. These barriers often include poor health, early pregnancy, exploitation, conflict, and lack of financial stability.

Australia

UNCC supports education in Australia by helping school dropouts and children from broken families, including those affected by drug‑related challenges, return home and re‑engage in school. Through guidance, mentoring, and access to support services, UNCC helps restore stability and creates a positive pathway back into learning.

uganda

UNCC supports education in Uganda by helping vulnerable refugee and host‑community children return to school, particularly those affected by early pregnancy, exploitation, or displacement. Through school‑return support, protection awareness, and family engagement, UNCC reduces dropout rates and strengthens safe learning pathways for children and child‑mothers.

south Sudan

In South Sudan, UNCC promotes education for children affected by conflict, displacement, and early marriage. We support access to safe learning, re‑integration for dropouts, and awareness campaigns that promote education as a path to protection and long‑term resilience.

kenya

UNCC supports education in Kenya by helping vulnerable children and out‑of‑school youth return to learning, addressing barriers like poverty, early pregnancy, and family instability. Through community outreach and school‑return support, UNCC keeps children in school and strengthens long‑term opportunities.

Congo

In the DRC, UNCC focuses on children affected by conflict, insecurity, and poverty. We help out‑of‑school children re‑enter education, provide basic learning support, and engage families on the importance of schooling. Our programs restore stability and offer children a safe alternative to exploitation and harmful labour.

Tazania

UNCC supports education in Tanzania by assisting vulnerable children, especially those in marginalised communities facing economic hardship and cultural barriers. We provide school‑return support, community awareness, and family guidance to ensure children remain in school and develop strong foundations for their future.

UNCC integrates education across all our community programs by providing:

Children standing in a village with huts
• School‑return support for vulnerable children and child‑mothers
• Adult literacy classes for parents and senior caregivers
• Education on women’s rights and protection to reduce gender‑based violence
• Community awareness on exploitation, early marriage, and child labour
• Life‑skills and character‑development sessions for boys and girls
• Safe learning spaces within refugee settlements
• Education guidance and referrals for newly arrived refugee families

Our education projects operate across the East African region, including:
• Uganda
• Kenya
• South Sudan
• Democratic Republic of Congo

Through these initiatives, UNCC works hand‑in‑hand with communities to strengthen learning opportunities, empower vulnerable groups, and promote education as a right, a pathway to dignity, and a foundation for a brighter future.
